Why
"De One"?
De
De has dual meanings, 德 means virtuous (the same ‘de’ in Dao De Jing). The second meaning is 得. This ‘de’ means ‘to obtain’. Acupuncturists most commonly associate this ‘de’ with De Qi, to obtain qi, while needling.
One
The use of ‘one’ is a play on words! In Chinese ‘one’ (一) is phonetically pronounced as ‘Yi’. Yi (醫) also has the meaning of ‘medicine’.

Our goal of naming our clinic “De One” is to encompass our goal of not only being virtuous Chinese Medicine practitioners but also a reminder of “One Medicine”, Traditional Chinese Medicine is rooted in Chinese philosophy and culture and modern Chinese Medicine is a melting pot of different schools of thought. Our name “De One” is our own declaration of the integration of medicine, that all medicine is “One”.
